We are dedicated to providing a positive experience for our patients, so The Florida Eye Clinic is seeking a professional, positive, and team-oriented individual to join our family as a Ophthalmic Technician*WHAT YOUR DAY WILL LOOK LIKE:*This position begins each patient's eye examination prior to the physician examination by completing routine tests and assessments following standard protocols. The Lead Technican records patients medical and visual histories. Checks patients near and distant visual acuities. Checks messages and medication line as needed. Spanish speaking is a plus.*MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:*The Technician must:* Be a high school graduate or equivalent* Have prior work as an Ophthalmic Technician (desired)* Have excellent customer service skills*ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:** Administers eye drops when instructed to anesthetize, dilate or medicate.* Performs refractometry/manifest and cyclopegia* Perfoms visual fields testing* Performs Amsler tests* Checks muscle balance and motility (basic)* Checks versions and ductions (basic)* *OTHER DUTIES:** *Performs other duties and responsibilites as assigned** Stocks supplies within the work area and replinish as needed.* Any other duties and/or responsibilities as assigned*EQUIPMENT:*Operates Slit Lamp, Applanation tonometer, Retinoscope, Keratometer, OCT*REQUIRED SKILLS: *Aptitudes: Audio and verbal ability, ability to make simple calculations, ability to organize.Techniques and Procedures: Requires 100% interaction with people, manual dexterity to an extent of 95 - 100%, lifting and reaching limited to 90 - 95%, sitting and standing to an extent of 90 - 100%.*PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:** Ability to operate visual testing equipment.* May be required to stand/sit for extended periods of time* Must be able to move about the clinic freely* There is to be no lifting of patients at any time.*SALARY:*$19.00/per hour ++, to commensurate with experience.Job Type: Full-timePay: From $19.00 per hourExpected hours: 40 per weekBenefits:* 401(k)* 401(k) matching* Dental insurance* Employee assistance program* Employee discount* Health insurance* Health savings account* Life insurance* Paid time off* Retirement planSchedule:* 8 hour shift* Day shiftExperience:* Customer service: 1 year (Preferred)Work Location: In personby Jobble
