Job Description:
The Associate Merchandise Planner develops financial and unit
plans for a category, cross category, or franchise assortment based
on knowledge of business insights and analytics, trends within the
marketplace and guest mix at Theme Parks and Resorts.In this role
you will use data and insights to plan and bring new product
experiences to our Guests while optimizing return. You will focus
your analytical skills evaluating the assortment, reacting to
in-season performance/trends, and utilizing learnings to inform
future season's assortment and inventory position.You will report
to a Merchandise PlannerThis is a Full-Time
roleResponsibilities:You'll join a collaborative team of
merchandise planners and specialists focused on developing plans to
maximize sales and profitable return on inventory.At any given time
you may be doing the following:
- Own and present retail plans with full accountability to
revenue and cost of goods to meet financial growth objectives
within a specific category or cross category assortment
- In partnership with leader, create high-level revenue
benchmarks to achieve growth and profitability that align with
business objectives
- Manage product releases or other merchandise initiatives on all
channels to mitigate financial gaps year over year
- Develop stratification of items to optimize SKU productivity
and ensure inventory management of item/category
- Leverage weekly business insights to understand item level
performance to maximize in season opportunities, minimize
liability, and inform future seasons
- Partner with merchandise strategy teams to maximize buys
through clear understanding of comp items, product lifecycle, and
determine cannibalization to meet financial objectives
- Provide monthly forecast of sales, inventory and margin on a
monthly basis based on performance with cause of change for monthly
open to buy meetings
- Collaborate with partners to identify pricing and liquidation
opportunities to manage transition of product
- Proactively provide communication on stock availabilityRequired
qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 years of retail planning experience
- Proficient in Microsoft tools & Business Objects
- Financial and analytical skills
- Organizational skills with attention to detail
- Adaptable to feedback and pivot based on changing
organizational priorities
- Flexible and adaptable with an ability to meet deadlines in a
fast paced environment
- Resourceful with ability to prioritize, problem solve and make
decisions
- Ability to collaborate with peers and partnersPreferred
qualifications:
- Experience with sales audits, transaction analysis, or fraud
investigations
- Knowledge of planning systems - Oracle Retail
- Business planning skillsRequired Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance or equivalentBenefits
