Job Description:

The Senior Manager, Creative Technical Packaging leads a team of structural packaging designers and engineers (or Packaging Imagineers) to develop Disney themed creative and innovative packaging solutions within manufacturing specifications to ensure delivery is on time, on budget, and supports and adheres to the Disney companies sustainable packaging goals. Works in partnership with the Creative Visual Packaging Design/Branding, Product Design, and Sourcing teams to supervise final packaging production for all product, packaging and retail style guides for the North America Disney Stores and Disney Theme Parks Vertical business. You should be highly creative, think strategically, challenge processes and forward-thinking.The Senior Manager, Creative Technical Packaging reports to the Director, Technical Packing and lead Visual Designers and Structural Engineers.You will:

• Lead packaging engineers and technical Designers to promote professional development
• Supervise and operate a packaging lab in respect to equipment, materials, and technology to prototype, produce white box samples for review, and create printed show-ready mock-ups for presentation
• Foster Global Sustainability initiatives by developing innovative packaging solutions and ideas to reduce waste.
• Supervise qualification of new/changed packaging to ensure quality and mitigate risk
• Oversee development of primary packaging solutions across all product categories using creative themes, stories, brands within the Disney/Pixar/Marvel/Lucas/20th Century/ESPN/Nat Geo universe
• Apply knowledge of ISO, FDA, and FTC requirements related to packaging, ensuring robust package verification and approval: Work with Product Integrity to ensure packaging meets specific testing requirements
• Work with Supply Chain on considerations for logistics (ex. case pack considerations)
• Awareness of future and current market trends, process improvements, and new technologies. Communicate and introduce as applicable
• Highly knowledgeable of printing/application techniques, materials, and print/color proofing.
• Create and approve technical drawings/die lines/Costing Mechanical Artwork (CMA)
• Initiate and follow-up on assembly build instructions for all engineering builds in U.S. and Asia
• Collaborate with Visual Design & Branding designers, Franchise Strategy, Product Design, Product Integrity, and Sourcing to streamline production and create final packaging mechanicals on time and on budget.
• Exhibits ingenuity, creativity, and resourcefulnessYou Will Have:
  • 10+ years of work experience in Packaging Engineering, Structural, Design, Packaging and/or Production
  • High proficiency in industry standard relatable Packaging and engineering software and hardware
  • Knowledgeable in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Keynote, MS Office: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
  • Process development or technology transfer experience preferred and Solid understanding of packaging manufacturing processes
  • Superior written and verbal communication and presentation skills to clearly sell creative ideas both in formal and informal settings
  • Organized, time management, and negotiation skills, attention to detail a must
  • Problem-solving skills as well as continuous improvement process skills
  • Experience working with packaging artwork or creating packaging artwork
  • Highly motivated and able to motivate othersEducation
    • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Packaging Engineering, Structural, Design, Packaging and/or ProductionAdditional Information This position is located in Kissimmee, FL.
