The Senior Software Engineer is responsible for designing and
developing software in supporting HCM (Human Capital Management)
technology platforms with focus on Workday HCM Integration.
Specifically, this role will be responsible for developing software
for:
- Core HR
- Compensation
- Talent Acquisition
- Payroll integration
- Talent Management

- Learning Management Job Responsibilities:
- Design, develop and test high performance, highly scalable and
flexible software solutions with focus on Workday integrations
between internal and external systems
- Translate business requirements to integration design
specification
- Develop, test and deploy Workday integrations using Workday
Studio, RaaS, Enterprise Interface Building (EIB), BIRT, Workday
Extend.
- Experience with Complex Calculated Fields, Web Services,
Workday Custom Reports, Web Services, XSLT, JSON, and xPath.
- Experience with Workday SDLC.
- Assess Workday twice-yearly releases and identify impact and
opportunities to support new features.
- Knowledge of Workday Security Integration framework
- Knowledge of Single Sign-On concepts.
- Troubleshoot critical incidents by conducting root cause
analysis and identifying solutions
- Experience with integration design using data integration best
practices including APIs, Messaging Bus, Pub-Sub, ETL
- Must have technical knowledge to be able to work with other
teams, including third parties, Enterprise applications and
infrastructure teams
- Partner with architects, business architects and business
systems analysts and other software and data engineers on project
teams, following Solutions Architecture model Required
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of Workday technical skills (PECI, Studio, Core
Connecter, Web Services API, BIRT, EIB).
- 5+ years of experience developing Workday Integrations with
consumers.
- Workday consultant or client pro-certified: Workday
Studio/Advanced Integrations
- Background and understanding of broad HR systems architecture
and data flow
- Extensive knowledge of best-practice business process and
technologies for HR functions, focusing on Architecture and
Integration to legacy-based systems
- Deep knowledge of Workday HCM: the business processes, security
frameworks, and advanced reporting
- Understand complexities and nuances with Workday reporting,
especially involving different organizational hierarchies within
Workday
- A strong business orientation combined with deep technical
skills.
- Experience with both waterfall and agile delivery
methodologies
- Expertise in secure software development and secure coding
practices
- Expertise in developing cloud-based and open-source software
solutions
- Expertise in comprehensive testing lifecycle inclusive of Unit
Testing, User Acceptance Testing, Regression Testing, and defect
remediation.
- Ability to address complex problems
- Innovative thinking and embraces innovation by constantly
seeking new or contrary ideas and approaches to what has been done
in the past.
- Ability to lead technical specification working session with
functional and vendor teams.

Education:
- BS Computer Science, information systems or related technology
field or equivalent work experience. Preferred Education:
- MS Computer Science or related technology field
- Workday Integration Certification The hiring range for this
position in Burbank, CA is $ 136,038 to $182,490 per year and in
Seattle, Washington is $142,516 to $191,180 per year. The base pay
actually offered will take into account internal equity and also
may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region,
job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of
the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical,
financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and
position offered.
