Job Description:

A large hospital network and a college of medicine are seeking an experienced internal medicine physician to join as Transitional Year Program Director to replace the former PD who was recently promoted. This opportunity will involve a mix of inpatient and outpatient general medicine, with 14 TY residents and 75 IM residents each year. The Program Director will be responsible for the administration and operations of the program, teaching and scholarly activity, resident recruitment and selection, evaluation, promotion, and disciplinary action, supervision of residents, and resident education in the context of patient care. Roles and Responsibilities: - Developing and implementing a strategic plan for the program - Overseeing all facets of program-related activities, including budgets and grant management - Ensuring the program meets all accreditation requirements - Supervising faculty and residents - Recruiting and selecting residents - Evaluating residents and providing feedback - Developing, implementing, and evaluating educational curriculum and programs - Supporting the program's research activities - Supporting the program's educational mission Qualifications: - Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy degree required - 3+ years of documented core faculty experience per the ACGME - Must be able to devote 30% FTE of non-clinical time to the administration of the program - Must possess a valid medical license - Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills - Demonstrated leadership abilities - The ability to work collaboratively and build consensus Experience and Skills: - 3+ years of documented core faculty experience per the ACGME - Proven expertise in medical education program administration - Experience in leading and managing faculty and residents - Experience in developing, implementing, and evaluating educational curriculum - Ability to work independently and in a team setting - Knowledge of medical accreditation standards Why Join Us: This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing program with excellent support and leadership of a large organization.
