The ideal candidate will have experience with project accounting, WIP, AIA, and Vista Viewpoint or Timberline Why join us? full-time position Salary: $65-$75k base plus bonus 401k PTO Job Details Job Details: We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Permanent Project Accountant to join our growing team in the Accounting Finance industry. This role is specifically designed for individuals with a solid background in construction and project accounting. Our ideal candidate is someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, can manage multiple tasks simultaneously and has a keen eye for detail. Responsibilities: As a Permanent Project Accountant, your primary responsibilities will include: 1. Managing all financial aspects of construction projects, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. 2. Overseeing the preparation of Work in Progress (WIP) reports and ensuring their accuracy and timeliness. 3. Utilizing software such as Viewpoint, Sage, and Timberline to manage financial data and generate reports. 4. Coordinating with project managers and other team members to ensure all financial data is accurate and up to date. 5. Processing AIA billings and maintaining a thorough understanding of AIA documents and procedures. 6. Analyzing project profitability, revenue, margins, bill rates, and utilization. 7. Assisting in the improvement of internal controls related to project accounting. 8. Providing financial analysis tools to evaluate company ventures or special projects, programs, capital expenditures, products costing, etc. when necessary. 9. Ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations, laws, and standards. Qualifications: To be considered for the Permanent Project Accountant position, candidates must meet the following qualifications: 1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in project accounting, preferably in the construction industry. 3. Proficiency in project accounting software such as Viewpoint, Sage, and Timberline. 4. Strong understanding of Work in Progress (WIP) reports, AIA billings, and construction accounting principles. 5. Excellent mathematical and analytical skills. 6. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with both financial and non-financial staff. 7. Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. 8. Proven ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. 9. Solid understanding of financial and accounting principles. 10. High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
